Research
Participation in DUI programs. Assisted EVALCORP with an analysis of county-level survey data on DUI arrestees. Analyzed quantitative data and prepared two reports for release to the general public.
Economic implications for people with disabilities. Assisted Colorado WIN Partners, University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine, with two reports describing the implications of a regional economic initiative for individuals with disabilities. Worked with US Census data and gathered regional information on economic development.
Assessment of local health care infrastructure. Led a research team that examined the state of the health care infrastructure in Colorado Springs, CO. The project included interviews with numerous local health care leaders in addition to extensive archival and background research. Findings were presented to the City Council and local community groups.
Participatory research with low-income parents. Part of a research team that collected and analyzed focus group data for the Supportive Parents Information Network. This grassroots nonprofit wanted to document the life experiences of their members in San Diego, CA. End products of the project included a white paper that was distributed to local legislators and a reader's theater piece that was performed in various public venues.
Implications of county welfare fraud policy. Part of a research team with the Supportive Parents Information Network that collaborated with the San Diego Office of the Public Defender to document defendant outcomes in welfare fraud cases. Conducted archival research and served as the team's quantitative data expert and general problem-solver. Research findings were presented to local community groups and public officials, and led to the creation of an award-winning pilot welfare fraud diversion program.
Impacts of a living wage ordinance. Conducted stakeholder interviews as part of a research team that explored the expected impacts of a living wage ordinance on small businesses in San Diego, CA.

Evaluation
Productivity in Higher Education. Part of a team currently evaluating a multi-year, multi-state initiative by the Lumina Foundation to increase higher education productivity. Major responsibilities include qualitative data analysis and report writing.
High school students' use of a scientific database. Part of an evaluation team that explored high school students'
use of ScienceDirect, a science-focused library database, for Elsevier. Work included site visits, focus groups, interviews, and
archival research. End products included a white paper and a PowerPoint
presentation as well as a report discussing findings internally
relevant to Elsevier.
Evaluation of a teacher training institute. Analyzed
qualitative data as part of an evaluation team that documented outcomes
for the Key Issues Institute in Keystone, CO.
Outcomes assessment of a chronic pain program. Analyzed quantitative data as part of an evaluation team that
assessed patient outcomes for a chronic pain program at Miami Valley
Hospital in Dayton, OH.
